The Student model is a banjo for beginners, but it is also an instrument which will be appreciated by advanced players. It is not only popular for its sound, but also for its reasonable price.
All of the important components are essentially identical to those for more expensive models (tone ring, tuners, head, etc), except the inlay is much more austere. The varnish is matte, the fingerboard is rosewood. The tone ring is cast from a bell-bronze alloy.
